Hashibami Hasumukai Toyaku

Went to Etajima Elementary School today, for lessons with the 5th and 6th years.

Web sites worthy of mention...
Who would buy that?
An hilarious site devoted to items found in online auctions. For example, a child's potty... fur-lined!

This weekend is a three-day weekend- Monday is a holiday- and, taking advantage of this, a large number of people have taken the day off. Lucky them!- I have a school visit, so I have to be at work.
Anyway, because there are so many people off work, the atmosphere is very relaxed, so even the people who are here aren't really doing too much work. In a way, being at work on these sort of days is almost as pleasant as having the day off.

Went to see the inside of the Manabi no Yakata, the town's new culture building, for the first time this morning. It's a very striking building, built in a traditional style, and the inside too is pleasant enough... but I can't help wondering just how much it'll actually be used.

Spooky. According to this article in the Telegraph, the lottery numbers drawn in New York on September 11th were... 9, 1, 1.
What are the chances of this happening, I wonder?- they must be astronomical.

Today is the first anniversary of Iain Duncan-Smith becoming the leader of the Conservative Party. I have to say that not much appears to have changed in this first year, but I'd like to believe that the foundations are being laid for progress to be made from here on... In any case, I like IDS, and I hope he can take the Conservatives out of their present doldrums.

Friday the Thirteenth- but today is a Good Day... it's payday! We normally get paid on the 15th of each month, but if this date is a holiday, then we get paid early. Can't complain... (well, I'm sure I could if I tried...!)
