If it's Friday, it must be a health problem... This morning Wendy called to say she thought she'd caught a cold, so I went to the doctor's with her. In Japan there are no General Practitioners as in the UK, so even for a cold you have to go to the hospital... Anyway, at the first hospital we went to, Friday is obviously 'oldies' day'- the whole waiting room was jam-packed full of old people (who, to be fair, had most probably all come from an old people's home). Perhaps they get something free thrown in if they get ill on a Friday...
Anyway, we didn't have time to wait, so we went to the hospital nearest the office, which never seems to be particularly busy (even though the doctor is young, pleasant and knows his stuff). We got seen almost straightaway (after Wendy had faked the thermometer reading, that is!); Wendy's cold turned out to be... a cold.
