What I did today
Today, I...
Had an easy day at work (no Ogiri preparations!);
Made a iMovie of the photographs from the event;
Found out that the Ogiri had been reported in the Chugoku Shinbun;
Went to Izumi and Mos Burger with Wendy, and bought the DVD of 'Goldmember';
Spent the evening watching Goldmember.
I found this morning that the International Club's Ogiri event had been featured in the Chugoku Shinbun yesterday, complete with photograph. I suppose that this is what comes of having good connections!
I have to say that I think that they went a little too far with 'Goldmember', the third of the Austin Powers films. It certainly wasn't as amusing as the first two films. Having said this, though, it did have two redeeming features- firstly, the appearance of a beautiful PowerBook, and secondly, the use of 'Evil Woman' by the Electric Light Orchestra. Obviously Austin is a man after my own heart. Now if only he'd pay a visit to Nomi Lodge...
Word of the week
me-no-kusuri
In contrast to last week's Word of the Week, this week's phrase literally means 'medicine for the eyes'. As such, it comes to mean something very close to the English 'a sight for sore eyes'; the image of soothing, of balm, is almost the same in both languages.
