Rachel Simmons, Odd Girl Out. [by way of WB17, Philadelphia, 20 Nov 2002] There may be great anecdotes in there, but the premise, that girls do act aggressively in covert and social ways rather than the more overt boyish aggression, is not news.
I mean, Seinfeld gets to the root of this as it does many things:
Elaine: Why do they call it a wedgie? George: Because the underwear is pulled up from the back until... it wedges in. Jerry: They also have an atomic wedgie. Now the goal there is to actually get the waistband on top of the head. It's very rare. Elaine: Boys are sick. Jerry: What do girls do? Elaine: We just tease someone until they develop an eating disorder.
