Even Paul Allen hits investing headwinds. The billionaire technocrat wants to build companies that promote his vision of a "wired world," but the sour economy has pulled the plug on many of his investments. [By way of CNET News.com]

Parapraxis—when I first read this item I heard “weird world” in my head. And in fact, I’ve always wanted to try designing a GUI that would respond in a completely alien way to inputs. Inconsistent, or perhaps based on a state machine.
