Jared’s spin: http://www.gaeldesign.com/ib/index.php (need to find a permanent link later !!!)

My take:

  • Geek factor: most people using Mac OS X are coming over from the Unix side?
  • Most OS 9 folks figure there's not enough in the Office X update to justify the cost?
  • OS X users of Office software figure that the latest release is going to be very short-lived and are waiting for the next revision, even though the Classic underpinnings of their current version is giving them severe hissy fits (ahem)?

Harris was at MM&J Monday, and of course he always jumps in about the Mac thing. Two people I know who have at least some Mac leanings at this company mention the Mac, and Harris points them at me. I manage to go a week without polemicizing or preaching to the converted, and all of a sudden I am the Mac guy. I’ve been content for the most part to let the TiBook speak for itself, and, oh boy, does it speak.

Ed (not my brother) came up today and complimented it, bringing up the total of walk-up compliments to, um, five at this site? The TiBook is a very approachable machine. Meanwhile, he described a problem with the DVD on his PC to S-Video that I had not encountered. I tried to puzzle it out with him, but got nowhere he had not tried.

Where was I? Oh, Harris. I guess he’s trying to build connections, trying to be more of a salesman. But I thought I was not supposed to talk about religion while on site.

:.)
