Wrangler commercial using CCR’s “Fortunate Son:” I don’t think that CCR is being anti-American in this song so much as being against privilege, but quoting the particular phrase it does and linking it to the flag just brings me the rest of the phrase, losing the context of the whole song. I suppose that I am not in their target demographic—I listen to the lyrics, I listen to popular music of three decades ago. Anyway, I don’t link my patriotic feeling with wearing jeans, sorry. And I skip the song whenever one of my mixes brings it up.
