The Friends of the Library's Book Sale is next weekend - Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  There is a Friends Members presale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Come Early and Buy A Lot!

The proceeds from the Friends sale are returned to the Library in the form of sponsorships and donations.  The Friends sponsor our Monday Night programs and the Children's Summer Reading programs among other things. They have also purchased equipment and books for the Library. 

The Library greatly appreciates the help offered by the Friends and your support of their efforts.

Coughing Up Cool Half-mil Would Cover Mom's Worth.

"Mom - she's priceless.

Which is another way of saying she doesn't get what she's worth.

According to one estimate, that's half a mil a year.

Edelman Financial Services Inc. added up all the jobs a mother does--cook, nurse, bus driver, financial planner, psychologist, etc.--and figured out what each of those jobs pay.

The total: $508,700.

'You don't have enough money to hire a mom as good as yours,'' said company Chairman Ric Edelman.

So instead, we devote this day to her--Mother's Day, the 95th in our nation's history.
