Bird tests positive for West Nile virus May 24, 2002
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported Thursday a dead crow collected in Cook County has tested positive for the West Nile virus. The crow was found May 15 in La Grange. Two other birds collected earlier this month in Hampshire in Kane County also tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus. The virus presents a threat to public health, as well as animal health.
