Seems that the deal of the day is a discounted ticket for the train, and it is $248 round trip, regularly $279 each way. The trip takes 3 hours. These tickets have to be purhcased in the US and have lots of restrictions. I'm not sure Paris will fit into my plans this trip.

This seems to be a government agency site, dedicated to facilitating public transportation. There are maps and journey planning aids.

Channel Tunnel Rail Track
From looking at this site, I had thought this was under construction still, but I'm told it is available. I wonder if I would have time to make a day trip to Paris?

Getting Around
My brilliant plan is to stay someplace close to the train, and use that to get into town each day. Once there, I will use the Underground to get to areas of London, and the rest of the time, will walk. I think this will give me a wonderful sense of the city, of being around people, and will let me see more sights because of the slower pace of motion.
I'm planning to wear sneakers and walking clothes everywhere, and carry a bookbag for travel guides, nicer shoes (if necessary) and other daily necesities.

I need more time to explore this site. It seems to be an administrative site about changes and improvements to the rail system. There is a section with timetables, major stations, and information about the chunnel train, which might make an interesting side trip.
