Walter Anderson. "Our lives improve only when we take chances - and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." [Motivational Quotes of the Day]
It's an ongoing theme with me that when I'm most honest with myself, I usually do a whole lot better. It's when I ignore those parts of me that need to change that I just go deeper and deeper into despair and denial.

Israel Salanter. "Promote yourself, but do not demote another." [Motivational Quotes of the Day]
In these tough economic times, it's hard to keep that in mind. You want to make sure you stand out from others but not at the expense of trashing them or stepping on their feet.

Ray Ozzie's Weblog: "Weblog Policy: A number of people at Groove have started blogs, and I'm really trying to encourage more to do the same. The more we live it, the more that we'll learn from it, and the more that we'll learn through it as we're engaged in conversations with our customers. And thus, the sooner that we'll be able to improve our products and services based upon what we learn. Of course, there are many questions that arise when an employer encourages employees to operate more "in the open", and so our counsel, Jeff Seul, has taken a first pass at creating a "blog policy". Check it out."
Ray Ozzie of Lotus Notes fame and now with Groove Networks has recently begun writing his own blog. With the rise in popularity of blogs, his company drafted a policy on them to guide their employees.
I think he maintains a good balance between people having their personal freedom yet acknowledging that they are employees of his company.
Though I don't often say that I'm an employee of HP, I post a number of articles about them from public sources. Maybe it's time I add a disclaimer?
