a klog apart: "Why don't people write?
Fear.
Fear of failure.
Fear of criticism.
Fear of reprisal.
Fear of looking stupid.
Fear of removing all doubt.
Fear of permanence.
Fear of strangers.
Fear of invaded privacy.
Fear of falling behind.
Fear of the blank page. "
In the past, I've been part of a writing group and fear and self-censor ship have been major barriers in writing. Even if no one ever sees your writing, internal rules can prevent us from writing what we really feel.
To paraphrase another well known thought...
Feel the fear and write it anyways.

HP seeks gold star in education market. After years of being an underachiever, the company says it has signed $100 million worth of deals with schools in recent weeks. [CNET News.com]
For some reason, I've never considered HP or Compaq or HPaq to be a player in the education market.
Here in Idaho, I've seen mostly Micron PC's in the schools' labs. Of course it helps that Micron is based in Nampa, Idaho. My 6 year old started first grade in a newly built school last week. He changed his mind about hating first grade when he saw the computer lab!
