Ever wanted badly to write but couldn't?
Maybe cause you've filled your head with self-doubt and self-loathing. I know that I've stopped writing because I am not writing for myself anymore. Last night I watched "Finding Forrester" and it turned me around. Screw you all, I'm just gonna write and see where we go.
We all have something to say. It's just a bitch sometimes trying to say it. [Robert Scoble: Scobleizer Weblog]
One of the biggest hurdles to writing, whether it be for private or public consumption, is conquering your internal editors and critics. Sometimes you just have to say 'to heck with it', I'm going to just do it.
It's getting easier and easier to make your voice heard and to make it public. Blogs are just one method. How you do it is up to you. My only recommendation is to just do it. Get out there and take the risk.

Saul Bellow. "There is only one way to defeat the enemy, and that is to write as well as one can. The best argument is an undeniably good book." [Motivational Quotes of the Day]
Writing is an important part of an overall communication process. Presenting yourself in a logical, sensible manner is more critical thought because you need that for both written and oral communication. If you don't make sense, it won't matter how well you write.

Micron reports loss amid weak sales. Micron Technology posts a fourth-quarter net
loss as PC sales remained sluggish and prices for its chips fell during the quarter.
[CNET News.com]
Micron is based in the Boise area where I live and things are getting rough all over. Jabil has a major facility here too and they're closing the entire site and laying off 500 people. HP has about 4,500 people here and we've been laying off people on and off for about 6 months. I'm sure there are other companies in the Boise area that are laying off too.
I am beginning to doubt that the economy is as rosy as economists are saying. I didn't used to think that the economy was bad until it started hitting me locally.

HP plans further job cuts. Amid a continued economic slowdown, Hewlett-Packard has disclosed plans to cut 16,800 jobs by October of next year, 1,800 more than the company had originally stated. [CNET News.com]
Yup. Getting even more scary.
I've been very fortunate to have never been laid off or never been in an environment that was going through lots of layoffs. I can understand how people might not function well in 'less than ideal' circumstances. It's very stressful and if you have less than clear values and ethics, you might be tempted to treat co-workers and customers poorly.
