Capellas steps down at HP. Hewlett-Packard President Michael Capellas leaves to pursue other career opportunities--possibly at WorldCom. [CNET News.com]
Is it really that much of a shock that he's leaving? I mean c'mon...
The article sez: Capellas was "not happy in his current role at HP," said one person familiar with the situation. "He wasn't being utilized."
Can Carly do this job alone? It depends on how you define success. By our stock price? I don't think she wants to be measured by this since HP stock has gone from approx. $75 post-split to $15.00 today (down $1.68 alone today). Measure success by improvement in sales? Not hardly. Those numbers aren't so great either. It's the economy don't ya know. Pick a number, any number to measure success both pre-merger and now post-Capellas and you'll see that the numbers are not favorable.
Sigh.
