i have to send thanks to my mother, grandmother and father. they all gave me money this week. my mom and grandma sent me money to help get home this summer and my dad deposited a chunk of his tax return in my account. you guys are so nice to me sometimes!!! :0)
my dad called me earlier and gave me lots of good advice about getting home and what to do about my living situation for next year. he said i should just fly home. it'll be quicker and not as bad as driving. if i have to pay extra for the dog and whatever, that's what i have to do. he said 'you gotta spend money to make money sometimes,' and they'll (my family) help me out. if that's what my dad says then that's what i'll do. also we decided i should probalby just stay at this place cause i'll be here more than half of may and more than half of august so it'd just be june and july that i'm paying for nothing but that's not enough money to justify the time involved in finding a place, moving out, paying to move into storage, paying for storage, paying to move out of storage and moving in. thanks dad!!!

guess what? i finally made it to the main library on campus last night to study for my repiratory phys test and i owe it all to fatima. she was so awesome!! first of all i had some questions and i felt stupid going to ask dr. poole so she came w/ me but he wasn't there. then she ended up explaining lots of things to me and she came and picked me up last night and we went to the library for at least 5 hours, maybe more. dr. poole emailed me and answered some of my questions too but said to come to his office at 8:30 this morning so he could explain this one graph to me; it'd take too many words in an email.
i stayed up until about 3a studying and then was up by 7:30a and at dr. poole's office before 8:30a. he was so nice and helpful; he probably thinks i'm an idiot. first of all he offered me some tea. what an english gentleman! he's from cambridge university i think and so is this horribly arrogant guy from my lab, chris. dr. poole is a much nicer person than chris. they both like to tell jokes too. i think chris was with the improv group at MIT. imagine that scene; very weird i presume! but in my opinion chris wasn't that funny. dr. poole has awesome delivery of jokes!!
anyway, dr. poole explained some stuff to me and then even asked me some questions, testing my knowledge, preparing me for the exam in less than 30 minutes. he also tried to compliment me by saying my questions were pretty good and he had gotten some really weird ones from some of my other classmates. i told him it wasn't necessary to say but thanks anyway.
bottom line i think i did fine on my test. 100%? no. but much better than the first phys test so that always helps. i just hope dr. poole doesn't think me an idiot after grading my test. that's the downside to being known by your professors. they can put a person to the name on the paper.
