so when i went to bed at 4a they were pronouncing Umm Qasr 'Umm Qas-R' and now at 9a, they're pronouncing it 'Umm Qas' no R. things you learn!

whether or not this is the 'real' saddam hussein or a body double, it's just an interesting photo. very fashionable in some weird hitler-looking way.

Pictures from today's anti-war protest at Harvard. [Scripting News]
most of the people in these photos look like students so how about we institute this: if you're gonna go to Harvard and pay lots of money to be very obnoxious and be a nuisance then you have to spend a week in iraq (or longer if you'd like). maybe you'll learn something. it's like my vet school requirement of going to the nebraska sheep farm for a week this summer.

I love giraffes! I wish I had a pet giraffe and I would name it Mr. Giraffe. One time I had a pet elephant and his name was Loyal. I sent him a letter in The Jungle when I was in undergrad but I don't think it made it there. Loyal was cool! There's nothing better than playing with doggie and kittie poop in Parasitology, except maybe looking at all the dead stuff in necropsy. |
