i ran the marathon today. it was pretty awesome! i didn't think i'd enjoy running such a small marathon. the others i've done had about 30,000 people and this one had 300. i wore my mp3 the whole time so i had some good music to keep me going. my unofficial time is 4:24:??. the results aren't posted so i don't know for sure. i got 4th in my age group. i did the first half (13.1 miles) in 2 hours so i thought i had a chance to finish under 4 hours but the weather was pretty bad. the start temp. was 25 degrees, i never warmed up, and winds were 13 to 23 mph the whole way either head-on or coming at a 45 degree angle. sometimes i wondered how i could push through all this wind. so it took me 2 hours 24 minutes for the second 13.1 miles which isn't so good but considering the windy circumstances there wasn't much i could do. so i have to say i am happy with my race. i felt very good and didn't walk at all. i did stop to poop and tie my sneaks but that's about it. about 25 feet from the finish line i was trying very hard to sprint and i dropped my mp3 player so like an idiot i had to pick it up and hold off this guy trying to catch me. i still beat him though. :0) it's hard for me to walk now and i think it'll be worse tomorrow. good thing the race was on a saturday so i have extra time to recuperate before class monday. hope i can ride my bike there still.

watch syracuse play oklahoma tomorrow for a spot in the final 4. kansas is in. should be pretty exciting. if su wins they will play ku. awesome!!!

	Hi, my name is Heather. I'm a 2nd year vet student. Email me. I love giraffes! I wish I had a pet giraffe and I would name it Mr. Giraffe. One time I had a pet elephant and his name was Loyal. I sent him a letter in The Jungle when I was in undergrad but I don't think it made it there. Loyal was cool! There's nothing better than playing with doggie and kittie poop in Parasitology, except maybe looking at all the dead stuff in necropsy.
