as you can see my template is in the process of updating to year2 status. we've gone from an elephant to a pig as i've moved down one flight of stairs in trotter hall and can call myself a 2nd year vet student! how exciting, can you believe it's been over a year??
i'm having some more health problems. so earlier today i had this urge to pee and had to go to the bathroom real quick. then tonite after the gym i came home and was in the kitchen doing something and this urge to pee came again but i had no time to get anywhere and the pee just came out. now i have peed my pants before, mainly on purpose in lots of different races, from track to triathlon, no big deal. but this has never happened, where i've had no control. this is my diagnosis: UTI. how do i explain this? well i've been eating so much candy the past week or so, i can't even say how much cause it's disgusting but i'm sure glucose has spilled over into my urine and that's perfect for little bacteria and yucky stuff to grow. maybe i've finally given myself diabetes. now though i keep feeling like i have to pee and i go to the bathroom and the littlest bit comes out and it hurts. i'm afraid i will pee my bed or pee myself at school tomorrow.
school was fun today. we had a horrendous pharmacology lecture and then paratsit. pfizer came with lots of free revolution. we had to bring in our blood samples and run heartworm tests. we had to show proof of a negative test before they would give us the product cause if they're positive for heartworm you have to treat it. so cleo was negative. billy isn't on preventative but i have a years worth of revolution and i still have over 6 months of sentinel that cleo is on so if i can test billy and get a negative result then i can get him on preventative. heartworm is caused by an infected mosquito biting your dog and contaminating the injection site with larvae so even though billy isn't really an outdoor dog, he's outside enough to be bitten by mosquitos, especially being in the northeast. so i picked up an extra antigen test and when i go to boston in october i can get a needle and syringe from the lab and try and get blood from billy and test him and then give him some preventative.
after giving us free product they then gave us pizza for lunch!
the afternoon was pharmacology lecture and it was quite interesting, especially since i read the article we were discussing so i could actually pay attention for once. then after class i had some questions for dr. kenney and i thought they were very stupid but it turned out they weren't and for one question there wasn't even a yet known answer. makes me feel good when a professor tells me a question i ask is 'a great question' since i rarely ask any.
then i went and registered my scooter. i wasn't sure where i was going and called rebecca from the mall cause i couldn't find it but she couldn't give me any better directions. kept driving around and finally found it. i asked if i could get a personalized plate but it's not available for the scooter plate. came home to find my new printer cartridges so i printed out the parasit table which is 20 pages w/ color photos of each parasite and my printer did a good job. the file was kinda messed up but oh well. tried to take a nap but couldn't fall asleep, even though i was a failure and went to bed at 2:30 last night. should have gone to the library but started unpacking and organizing my room and just kept going with that. now my room is much more organized though i still have more work to do. at least i can walk around now, the little room there is to walk my room is so small. went to the gym at 10 and had a great workout. sweat a lot! brought an issue of runner's world with me and that kept my interest enough to even make me work out harder, i didn't notice. even ran a few laps really fast at the end cause a good song was on. then did some stomach stuff but i think that wasn't so good for my back. then home to pee my pants and shower and now it's after 1:30 and i shouldn't be up but i'm busy rambling on.
i've gotten my scooter up to 40 i think. who's gonna be the first to hop on back and trust me to a ride around town? any takers??
