just a quick post before i go spend my friday night at the library w/ my stooges nina and rebecca. i took my test yesterday and though it was difficult i think i passed but i have no idea of my grade. too iffy to tell. last night i went out w/ nina, rebecca and dan for dinner at bobby t's. they were taking me out for my birthday since our test was over and i wanted to go somewhere where i could watch the yankee game as well. we didn't stay out too late and then i came home and watched the yankees lose, though they did make a comeback. bernie williams was just a bit short with his fly or else we could have tied it up. today was very busy w/ class and my pathology assignment was due so i had to spend lunch doing that and then after bacT lab we had parasit review for our exam wed. then came home to feed the dogs and then nina and i went to chili's for dinner and now we're meeting at the library.

also my dad called and i knew the way he started the conversation things weren't good. i couldn't imagine who had died this time so i was wondering what the bad news was. he has a way of conveying bad news. he's had to call me when my grandfather died, when my cousin died and when my dad himself ended up in the hospital and wanted me to come home. so this time he tried asking me first if i was doing better in school and if my test went okay, then he proceeded to tell me how my aunt is quickly dying and that i was right when i told him she would die. i don't know this for 100% fact because it's coming from my dad and who knows but i think originally my aunt ursula was diagnosed w/ ovarian cancer that had already spread. i spent my summer doing ovarian cancer research so i knew it was a horrible disease and by the time it was usually diagnosed it was too late to do much good. she was diagnosed at least a couple years ago so it wasn't recently but she was doing well i thought up until dad called. so now she's in the hospital and probably had less than 6 months left to live. she has a feeding tube and will probably just stay in the hospital i guess because it's easier to get care 24 hrs a day. she's in her mid 50s married forever to my uncle and has 4 kids who all have lots of kids.

towards the end of the conversation i realized it was my dad's birthday today and i forgot to say anything so i had to say 'hey dad, it's your birthday!! happy birthday!!!" i felt stupid but he threw my game off with his call so i guess it was a bit understandable. anyway happy birthday dad and take care aunt ursula!

QUOTES

It's better to burp and bear the shame than not to burp and bear the pain.

Dr. Wally Cash, DVM

Well, I want to try everything in life.

Heather Rose Martin, CFG (crazy freak girl)

In the book of life there's only two women, big ol' good ones and good ol' big ones.

Ice Cube, HipHopper

I'd rather have a terrorist standing next to me than a Frenchman. (~15 min. later) Oh, I forgot about that, that's another reason I don't like the French, they eat horses.

Dr. Dee Griffin, DVM

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].

Aristotle, 384-322 BC

Going to Kansas for Vet School is like going to the Special Olympics to play chess.

RobReed, BoyGenius

Now you can either stand around here eatin' jambalaya or you can come upstairs and eat my ass!
