Bug reporting by blog

My note about the SSCLI remoting sample that threw an exception got the attention of somebody at Microsoft.

It turns out that a single line of C++ inserted in the right place of the right vm file fixes the problem.  I don't know if I have the right to say more (or even to say this much), but I've emailed to tell the SSCLI team that the fix works and I'm sure it will be in a future release.

[Later... Peter encourages me to reveal the patch I got from Microsoft.  Although I don't see any reason why it should be a secret, I don't think it's my place to publish it.

I hope that it will be posted soon.  If it is, I'll point to it from here.]

A new, improved k10n

A couple of readers have asked me to shorten the lines of my code listings.  The long lines extend the table width of several Radio screens, like the news aggregator, beyond the bounds of usability.  I think I've taken care of the prime offender, and I'll be careful from here on.  In my (partial) defense, I've noticed that the HTML edit control on the Radio Userland page seems to gobble up line endings in the blockquote/pre regions I use for code.  The longest lines that were messing things up weren't supposed to be one line, anyway. 8:59:27 AM
