Generics for the SSCLI

There was a flurry of messages on the DOTNET-ROTOR list when I checked my mail this morning. Yesterday Microsoft Research (Cambridge) released the beta of Gyro, an implementation of generics for C# and the CLR for the Shared Source CLI (SSCLI). (Peter announced it on the list, but he hasn't posted on his blog yet.) I tried to download it, but the server doesn't seem to be responding. At any rate, here's the start page.

[Later... Got it.  Apparently it just takes a while for the download dialog to come up after you agree to the EULA.]

[Later, still...  The build worked the first time through on my Windows XP system, as did the first little program I wrote using generics.  C# with Templates is Cool++!]
