Data center applications: SERDES

What caught my eye in this article is the use of terms "data center applications" and "enterprise applications". Our own SERDES works has met trouble in the journal review process becasue people complain that it does not meet SONET spec, or whatever their pet spec is, despite that it was never claimed that it would. These are established, i.e. fancy, names for the "short-haul" regime which is where we were contgracted to do the work.

These days "enterprise" seems to be the new version of "new and improved" or "30% better". It's versatile, at lest...
