IntelliJ IDEA: the most intelligent Java IDE around.

For those of you not using IDEA, can your IDE do all this?

This page will introduce to you the most important features that appeared in IntelliJ IDEA, version 3.0. The more complete list of changes can be found in the Changes.txt file of your IntelliJ IDEA 3.0 installation directory.

It's at least the 5th java weblog where I read flattering comments about IDEA. I need to look at that.

In fact these days I don't use an IDE anymore: UltraEdit or vi depending on the platform I work on, and ant to handle the chores.

Oracle announced today (at Oracle World) that it is intending to support Eclipse in its JDeveloper tool, and has submited a JSR 198, a Standard Extension API for IDE's, to the JCP process. JSR 198 is a proposal to create a standard interface for adding extensions to Java IDEs, allowing the creation of IDE-portable plugins/addon tools. [TheServerSide.Com: Your J2EE Community]
