BT goes wireless again. The new strategy:
- Save loads of money (reduce headcount and whack lame business units)
- Become an mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) by reselling mmO2 airtime via the BT brand, with focus on corporates. That analysts think that they'll have less risk by not owning the network indicates how little they thought of BT's chances with Cellnet.
- Provide wireless broadband to corporates by earlyish 2003 (starting with 802.11b, then Bluetooth, and 802.11a in 2004) and to the public by 2005.
- Strive to reduce customer dissatisfaction by 25% a year. How, they don't say.
Meanwhile, in Newbury, Vodafone falls to 3 year low
