Actually the exact centre of Britain depends how you measure it. Ordnance Survey, having factored in the UK's 401 islands and using a centre of mass technique, says it's near Dunsop Bridge. BT installed their 100,000th payphone in Dunsop Bridge in 1992. Others say it's at Haltwhistle, more than 70 miles away.
