Muchmore (Zapruder from a better angle) film used as case-study for new film restoration technique Taken by Marie Muchmore, the film shows the Kennedy motorcade turning into Houston Street.  The final, fatal shot to the president’s head is clearly visible as is the “babushka lady”, a curiously attired woman filming close to the president’s car, who has never been positively identified and whose film has never been retrieved. That any detail in the Muchmore film can be distinguished is remarkable. The original was shot on 8mm film stock now more than 40 years old and reprinted on 16mm stock shortly after the assassination. The poor quality of the print is one reason the film has had so little exposure. 11:28:42 AM     comments
