Education authorities will no doubt ban mobiles that are switched on in exams. But will this work? Longer-term, if many of our phones, watches, etc get networked, what will happen? It becomes impossible to firewall the exam room (unless we take our exams in Faraday cages?). Instead, maybe exams will need to shift away from measuring what-facts-you-know and towards how-do-you-think/problem-solve.
