NYT article reports on efforts by Nokia et al to sell handsets-as-games-platforms (and get into subscription revenue). And curious quotes:

Nokia spokesman: "By putting games on handsets, we're going to bring phones out of the glove compartment"

Qualcomm developer relations: "It's a holy grail"

Metaplay CEO (wearing a Nokia-branded shirt): "I'd had Nintendo shorts and Sega shirts and Microsoft shirts [...] I have a hunch this is going to be enormous."
