All your broken vinyl are belong to us
Some record companies have agreed to help recording artists by simplifying royalty accounting. Fewer line items will be easier to understand. A step in the right direction but who does this really benefit? The artist still gets (or doesn't get) the same number of pennies. I'd like to see the artists vote on whether they would rather have fewer line items in the contract or more pennies in the bank.
