After reading an article by Clay Shirky the other day about the problems with fully automating web services, I was reminded of the passages from Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations concerning the applicability of rules - eventually we must say, "This is what we do" - there are no more rules that tell us how to use the rules we have.
Partially it was just exciting to think that there are still connections between my years spent studying philosophy at UCSC and the issues I currently wrangle with - programming, software design, etc.
