I've been wondering lately whether it would be possible - or even make sense - to build an interface for a distributed application using some combination of SVG and XML-RPC. The SVG spec says a conforming implementation should support scripting via ECMAScript (Javascript). Assuming one is using the Apache Batik project for client-side rendering, it also provides a means to associate an arbitrary interpreter with scripting commands embedded in the SVG file. All of which means there should be some way of associating a click event with an XML-RPC call.
