Naming is an important factor in the success of any open-source or free software project. Linux is a good name - obviously reminiscent of Unix, but different. Pleasant, almost, in a technical sort of way. Ogg Vorbis, on the other hand, is a terrible name, combining two geek culture references into one unfortunate package. I'm convinced that, had it been given a better name earlier in its lifespan, we'd be seeing it used outside of a free software context.
