Resolved the screen redraw problem with Cosmoe where moving the mouse caused large black rectangles to be drawn over the desktop. Turns out gpm and the cosmoe appserver were contending for access to the mouse. Killing gpm, then starting cosmoe resolved the problem (and in turn brought up a new host of difficulties). It might be a fun project to get involved with, if only because there's so much work to be done - with plenty of low-hanging fruit.
