JBoss
Hmmm. It would appear that, without much fanfare, JBoss 3.0 has been released.

For a while I was pretty excited about JBoss. Too much exposure to the breathless rhetoric at the project's website has curtailed that excitement considerably.

As everyone will be posting today, Mozilla 1.0 is out.

While mozilla has improved tremendously since the ~0.7 stage when I first started paying attention, I still wonder if there's room for someone to write a small, fast browser (or a large, fast browser for that matter!) that implements the most common portions of the most common standards and doesn't use Gecko for rendering.

The browser is essentially a tool for displaying the interface of a remote application - would starting with this as the most fundamental assumption make any difference in the design?
