Monday means a new Strong Bad...

I'm having trouble finding much research on the topic of order independence in programming language design. The Conway essay is the only one I've found so far that explicitly addresses the topic.

Did find a Microsoft technical report on "Programming Shorthands" by Todd Proebsting and Benjamin Zorn. The authors mostly focus on the idea of pronouns in imperative-style languages. While it doesn't specifically address the topic of order independence, it does fall into the general area of the application of sophisticated syntactic ideas in programming language design.

An question I don't know how to answer yet - when will I run up against the limits of CFLs? Are there standard parsing tools for context-dependent languages?

Didn't meet the goal of finishing the lilobot cartoon this weekend. Accidentally saved over panel five with panel six. Felt demoralized. Put off recreating panel five for a few days.

Spent all morning on Saturday digging up irises at the church with David, Matt, and Fr. Michael. David and I recalled that several months ago we had made tentative plans to go on a weekend retreat to St. John of Shanghai monastery during the summer. We reaffirmed those plans - I assume we'll make them more specific later this week when I have dinner with him and his family.
