gobeProductive to be open-sourced
A bittersweet announcement, seen first at OSNews. Gobe, the only company to have any significant success selling commercial software for the BeOS, is effectively folding its hand - gobeProductive, their well-received office productivity application, is to be open-sourced under the GPL in the near future. The first two versions of Productive were developed exclusively for the BeOS. Once the BeOS fizzled out, they ported Productive to Windows (and had a Linux port in the works as well, with an alpha available for download).
Should the code actually materialize, Productive will offer a compelling alternative to OpenOffice. I'll definitely be seeing if it would make sense to introduce it for use out at Transfer Flow.

There has to be a better way to dissipate heat in laptops - my forearms are sweating right now. :-/
Just downloaded updated firmware for the DWL-900+ access point from the D-Link site. Seem to be getting better reception from the living room now. Though I may just be fooling myself (another case of desired outcome determining the observed phenomena?).
Minor update to the church site - added the service times. Ruth just published the August newsletter, so it should go up on the site relatively soon as well.
