Inside ASP.NET WebMatrix

Peter: Inside ASP.NET WebMatrix: Wrox wastes no time in releasing (online, free) a book full of screenshots of ASP.NET WebMatrix...

At least, that's progress. They didn't rush a "Early Adopter" hack book out (yet).

System.Error.Emit: "I talked to a couple of people during my VSIP DevLab last week...". BTW, Brian, where are you working/what are you working on? The people doing VSIP work are few and far between, AFAICT - the highest-profile (blog-wise) .NET VSIP person seems to be Sam Gentile, but he's not talking much :-)... [Peter Drayton's Radio Weblog]

Yup, I noticed that (VSIP) and was wondering what you guys are working on (if you can say). I almost went to that DevLab myself. VSIP is NDA, so I can't write about it.

WebMatrix (nee Saturn) finally shipped!

WebMatrix (nee Saturn) finally shipped! Congrats to the ASP.NET team for producing a kick-ass IDE for ASP.NET - I love how it is more fully-featured than VS.NET in some regards (as in it has web service-specific wizards, an FTP browser, community integration and more).

If I could take this moment to issue a gentle nudge without seeming ungrateful, where's Cassini? And I'm still mourning the integrated command shell from Saturn, which is IMHO the feature of Emacs that I use the most, bar none, and one of the main reasons I don't use VS.NET yet as my main development environment.

Microsoft's new Speech Application Language Tags (SALT) is an implementation of the specification developed by the Salt Forum. SALT consists of a set of HTML extension tags that let automatic readers read HTML content more easily or let users interact with SALT-enabled pages by talking to them. Download the Microsoft .NET Speech SDK Beta to try it out.
