People continue to invent strange things. Let's review two keyboards today.
Houston-based FrogPad introduced this week at Comdex a keyboard sized like a PDA which has been designed for fast data entry.
The letter layout is based on the percent usage of each letter in the English language. Fifteen letters that are used 86% of the time by typists are placed in the most efficient locations on the keyboard
You must use special keys, like the shift key, to access the other characters. The company claims it can easily handle other languages, such as Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic or Korean to name a few It also says that it conducted usability tests which prove that an average person could type "40 words a minutes within the first 10 hours of practice."

The official price is $189.99 at their online store, but you can get a $10 rebate if you convince a friend to also buy one.
In the mean time, a UK-based company, Proporta, has released a roll up flexible and waterproof keyboard for your PDA.
It has 64 keys, weighs 80 grams and you can store it when you don't use it. Here is how it looks (Credit: Proporta).

It is compatible with almost any Palm or Pocket PC handheld. You can buy it for $72.95, here on Proporta website.
And if you don't have enough, you can check this former review at "Would You Use a Vertical Keyboard?" which talked about the $295 keyboard from SafeType.
Please let me know if you plan to buy such exotic gear.
