I wonder if they've purposely introduced some GPS-style innaccuracies in the trial version? [Peter Drayton's Radio Weblog]
It appears the affect is due to rounding.
When I go to http://www.serviceobjects.com/products/GeoNet_demo.asp they list my location as Omaha, NE. Longitude: -96, Latitude: 41.
But Tiger shows Omaha, NE at Longitude: -96.01174, Latitude: 41.26390. (http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/gazetteer-tbl?city=omaha&state=ne&zip=)
Compare these 2 maps and you’ll see the difference I see on your map:
Precise: http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapbrowse-tbl?lat=41.26390&lon=-96.01174&wid=0.25&ht=0.25&mlat=41.26390&mlon=-96.01174&msym=redpin&off=CITIES&mlabel=Omaha,+NE
Rounded: http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapsurfer?infact=2&outfact=2&act=move&off=CITIES&tlevel=-&tvar=-&tmeth=i&mlat=41&mlon=-96&msym=redpin&mlabel=Center&murl=&lat=41&lon=-96&wid=0.250&ht=0.250&conf=mapnew.con
