We had a great strawberry crop this year, made a lot of jam and ate a lot of strawberries. The kids just love to eat them as fast as Sue can pick them. Alas, the strawberry season is over, but almost on queue the raspberries and black berries have started up. They are shaping up to be another great crop. They are really tasty and the kids are all ready enjoying them. I’m sure the jam is not to far away. Nothing like Sue’s homemade bread with homemade jam! Yum! Commercial jams just can’t compete with the real thing hand made by the natives!

Argh! I'm out on my screened in porch getting bitten alive from the obnoxious hack berry bugs. These are very tiny, meaning smaller than normal window screen size, bugs that bite. Normally they aren't a big problem but this morning they are really bad. The neighbor, a tree cutter, says I should cut down the hack berry trees. I didn’t want to do that but I have one just outside my porch that may have to go. They aren’t that nice of a tree anyway.
