Feature cruft.
Terrific article by Matthew Thomas on what he calls "cruft". I distinguish this sort of thing from "code cruft", which is the junk that accumulates over time in source code when you don't refactor ruthlessly.
All of the examples that Matthew uses are things that we could easily fix in our software. So why don't we?
