Let's Make This More Confusing; Shall We?

Lee Gomes wrote an interesting article in today's WSJ (the Boom Town Series), about growth in a mature industry.

He's coined the term, "Ford's Law," outlining that growth in a mature industry happens at less than 10% -- citing that current growth for business technology spending will rise "3% or so." However, in his piece, he described "Web services," as and I quote, "when companies use the Internet to do business with each other." Arrghhh! How painful. I dropped him a note and I'm sure I'm not the only one he proposed a less innane definition, perhaps something involving software components w/ standards-based interfaces that can be called over an IP-based network or something like that ...
