More Dawgs/Ducks
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cfootball/95769_miller15.shtml Ted Miller reporting straight from Eugene prior to tomorrow's game; Apparently Miller had some Huskie gear on and got this reaction from an Oregon player, "You want to get jumped?" 6-foot-4, 296-pound offensive tackle Corey Chambers said, pointing at my Husky getup. "What's up with this stuff?"

Grubman Story Takes a "Childish" Turn
http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,SB1037311252116524828,00.html?mod=article-outset-box The WSJ has a great piece today about the "role" that the 92nd St. Y and Jack Grubman's twins played in his ratings on AT&T ... truth is stranger than fiction. If you are interested in the story or have friends /family in Manhattan w/ young kids, this is a must read (requires Sub). More details from the http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,SB1037333943886133268,00.html?mod=home_whats_news_us, as well as the actual memo:
http://online.wsj.com/documents/jack.pdf, the most precious part of this is the quote, "we are going through the ridiculous, but necessary process of pre-school applications in Manhattan ... Anyway, anything you could do Sandy would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned, I will keep you posted on the progress with AT&T which I think is going well."

Nothing like mixing business and pleasure, huh?

Baseball's GMs are talking in AZ this week: http://espn.go.com/gammons/s/2002/1113/1460204.html  Peter Gammons talks about D-Backs interest in D-Bell, ugh! I hope that he's mistaken or that D-Bell sees the evilness of playing in a ballpark that has a pool, but who knows (I know the Coke bottle /glove suck too, but it's not a pool!)

Is he omnipresent or what?
Toby Redshaw, Motorola, seems to be everywhere. I've not talked to him directly, but he seems to be the poster child for emerging technology (and web services) and business strategy among the digerati -- recently spotted in webMethods "Enterprise Dial Tone" paper/brochre, this month's "Under the Buzz" (The Chasm Group) and the first person mentioned in Information Week's covery story ... wow, I wonder what the folks at his day job think?

Ben Folds in SF
Going to see Ben Folds (http://www.benfolds.com) tonight at the Warfield, which is actually the first venue where I (finally) got to see BFF on the Reinhold Messner tour, before they broke up. I saw him solo in March at the Fillmore --good stuff, very excited for tonight.
