It's a too-much-media weekend...

Somehow I've neglected to mention Apple's release of a new version of iTunes that integrates subscriptions to podcasts and links to a 3,000-item iTunes Podcast Directory. In its first two days, Apple says it has been used it to subscribe to more than a million podcasts. A New York Times says it's the start of a battle for eardrums and the "post-Web era." While exploring this, I've added some things to the constantly-changing Wikipedia podcasting page, neglecting my own reference page for now.

Meanwhile, catching up with a stack of Chronicle of Higher Education back issues... Stephen D. Krause's piece on Blogs as a Tool for Teaching should be available to non-subscribers for a few days at that linked address, and possibly thereafter through the author's weblog. He also wrote When Blogging Goes Bad.
