Cali Lewis of "GeekBrief.tv" suggests ye olde television networks could be a bit more viewer-friendly about showing broadcast programs over fast Web connections. See her video blog entry on "NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox's strategies for delivering content in a world of what we want, when we want, where we want..."
Even if you're not interested in geek news, this is a fine excuse to link to GeekBrief.TV's notes on equipment for podcasting ...and this tour of its home audio studio.
Yes, home... The show is a mom and pop operation. Their site notes say millions of downloads a month made it possible for Cali and Neal to quit their day jobs last year -- after only five months of podcasting.
Part of the reason may be that Cali -- not Katie Couric -- is about the perkiest face on "TV" since back when grumpy news editor Lou Grant (Ed Asner), used that word to describe his star reporter (Mary Tyler Moore)... adding, "I hate perky."
And how about those white gloves as a sign of commitment to video blogging or podcasting? Cali, a real trouper, is carrying on despite a case of (weren't they extinct?) German measles.Note to news writing and editing students: Yes, it's trouper not "trooper."
