2:30am | just walked home from Neutral Bay. James cooked and we bullshitted over pasta a couple of bottles of red, conversation predictably turned to politics and the state of the world and he made me watch Fox News on cable.
I haven't watched television since 1995 and haven't owned a set since 1993. I was genuinely shocked at what television news has degenerated into... James said that in America, Fox was increasing ratings share on the back of this shameful, jingoistic,opportunistic crap. I'm amazed China hasn't embraced Rupert with open arms if what I just watched is a showcase of the kind of propaganda show he can deliver for them.
What I saw on television tonight, what ever it was, was not journalism.
It was a good walk, summer is gone but the chill of winter is still a month or so away. The trees out side my sunroom are turning colour and dropping their leaves and once again I can glimpse the harbour and the lights of the city.
