All mixed up | Does anyone know where the address field formating of Mac OS X 10.2's Address Book App is defined?... I need to fix the localization for Australia. Our American friends have got Austria confused with Australia again... I know they have similar spelling guys but for the record one is a country in the middle of Europe and the other is a continent which takes up most of the planet between Indonesia and Antarctica.
I'm using Canada's address formating for now -- it's the same as ours (city, state, postalcode) but the web services stuff in the address book breaks as it derives a persons "Country" not from the Country field of the address, but from a style you select in order to apply formating to the address fields, i.e. the Map service believes my address is in Canada even though the Country field contains "Australia" -- "Canada" is just the name of the address formating style I've selected... does the concept of Seperation of Style from Content not appeal to Apple?
Sherlock 3: Why can I only search eBay by *US* region in Sherlock 3?... eBay services Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom too?
Update: The configuration file for the OS X 10.2 Address formatting resides at...
System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBook.framework/Versions/A/Resources/addrFormat.plist the formatting of this text file is pretty straight forward.
...Here is the documentation
on creating Sherlock 3 Channels... but no luck finding the required Sherlock SDK at Apples developer site.
