take a step back i went to a great anti-war concert featuring chuck d, ani difranco and spearhead last friday. someone once asked michael franti (spearhead) how one person can make a difference. he said he didn't know, but they can join with others, and together make a difference. he shared this story about social change: a butterfly, which lives 5 days, was asked, "have you ever seen this tree move?" "no," said the butterfly, "not in all my life have i ever seen this tree move. it must be dead!" 3:48:18 PM comment [] ![]() |

the democracy is busy, please try again later i've been trying the white house line for the last week, only to get a busy signal. one time i got through, but was on hold for a half-hour, and didn't have time to wait anymore. i hope this means that the white house has been flooded with people calling. 3:27:07 PM comment [] ![]() |

Speaking in Strings Great documentary about violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. Inspiring to watch this passionate, independent, and complex musician wrestle with her art and life. 3:22:22 PM comment [] ![]() |
