Just stumbled across a little rant that I exactly agree with.  It's about deploying database-based apps, and how Microsoft is telling us that we should use MSDE, but they've made MSDE a pain to deploy.  http://radio.weblogs.com/0117167/categories/microsoftNet/2003/05/15.html#a298 Maybe there's middle ground somewhere - like making a database engine based on MSDE but that's implemented completely in one DLL.  As an app developer I don't really want to be the guy installing a server process on a user's machine. 1:41:15 PM    comment []

I've posted "Alpha 1" of WebAccount here.  It's nice knowing that next time I have an idea for a web project, I have a template I can start with that lets me start just after the point of coding the user and account management code. I don't have any administrator tools for this yet - disabling accounts, looking at the list of users - I guess that's next.  For now, just look at the database.   8:32:11 AM    comment []
