Why is every other "Post and Publish" failing to work? :-(

Today is (replaced by blank area because macros don't work well in daily posts ...sometimes they work and sometimes they do not work)

Just a post to test longDate macro, which seems to not be working

Also, is posting a daily log the only way to update the homepage?
